Imports of mobile phones drop significantly on year-on-year basis

 This year, foreign exchange of 69 million dollars was spent on the imports of mobile phones

Imports of mobile phones have recorded a significant decline during the current financial year.

According to the data released by the State Bank and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics in this regard, during the period from July to November 2023, foreign exchange was spent on imports of mobile phones worth 28.69 million dollars.

According to the data, this year's imports are 199% less than the same period of the previous financial year. In the same period of the last financial year, foreign exchange was spent on the imports of mobile phones of 85.83 million dollars.


According to the report, 7.13 million dollars of foreign exchange was spent on the imports of mobile phones in November, which was 6.19 million dollars in October and 6.258 million dollars in November last year.

It should be noted that in the first five months of the current financial year, the volume of total imports of the telecom sector has been recorded at 676.062 million dollars, which was 373.11 million dollars in the same period of the previous financial year.
